Medhurst has engaged with Virtua UK Ltd to deliver major projects over the previous years. Once again, they have trusted us and set us the task to deliver six new projects over the school summer holidays.
The projects consisted of upgrading the wireless infrastructure at 6 locations around the UK, with the majority being education establishments. The task was to deliver infrastructure solutions to support high speed WIFI. This consisted of a full survey and design service, the deployment of Category 6 cabling, OM4 Fibre cabling and various data cabinet upgrades with the final deployment of Aruba APs for connectivity.
The Virtua team needed to complete the upgrades within the 6-week summer holiday timeframe, so the task was set.
Virtua UK Ltd deployed the following solutions across the six projects.
88 x Wireless Access points and associated cabling to support the network upgrade.
86 x Wireless Access points and associated cabling to support the network upgrade.
192 x Wireless Access Points plus a full Fibre network upgrade to support a 10G network across two campuses within the college.

During the installations the project team encountered multiple challenges with the aesthetics and age of the buildings. However, whilst thinking on their feet overcame every issue to make sure the networks were deployed to the satisfaction of the end client and Medhurst.
Our Virtua engineers worked around the clock to make sure all the locations were completed within the time frames requested.
The wireless solutions enable the establishments to improve productivity, simplify management and reduce costs. The new secure and reliable network can scale to handle a growing number of mobile devices, benefiting not only the staff but more importantly the boys and girls using the networks.
