Virtua shows support for the Leopards

Virtua are now supporting the AFC Corsham Leopards Under 9s football team. Having been contacted by the manager of the team, our MD Andy Richards was keen to get involved.

Who is AFC Corsham?

AFC Corsham is a non-profit making organisation on a mission to provide footballing opportunities to as many young people as possible. The aim of the club is to; provide fun and motivating training sessions; encourage positive interaction between the children and to help the children to build self confidence.

All together the club has around 250 players from the under 6’s to the under 16’s. The whole club trains throughout the week and has a match every weekend. The Leopards, our sponsored team are the under 9’s and have 11 players. Having won the last 6 of their 7 matches the team are doing excellently in the Mid Wilts Youth & Minor Football League.

Why sponsor the team?

Football teams are often founded on mutual love for the game; however, once a team starts playing on a regular basis there becomes the need for a ‘proper’ team kit, which unfortunately cannot be funded on enthusiasm alone.

This is where it becomes essential for clubs to secure a sponsorship deal to fund team kits. However, attracting sponsorship can be one of the biggest headaches that club managers face, as many of the coaches have found out in the past and going forward. It’s not a cheap outlay and the support from a company like Virtua is essential not only for the team but for the club.

It is great to have the support from Virtua in supporting Grass roots football, I am driven to give the team the best possible support and equipment throughout their Youth Football Time. This support brings out pride, passion, gratitude in all the boys and that’s good for them as they move into adult hood.” Ian Pike, AFC Corsham U9, Manager

Good Luck for the Future Leopards!
