Sponsoring Finley Climo Smith, MMA Fighter

Virtua UK firmly believe that it is important to give back to our communities, especially helping younger generations succeed. As well as already having numerous apprentices we support several football clubs, and now we have chosen to sponsor Finley.

Finley is an MMA fighter who has recently been selected to fight for Wales in multiple competitions, including one in Abu Dhabi this summer. There is limited funding for these competitions, as such we’ve stepped in and are asking others to do the same.

About Finley

After years of moving around due to domestic abuse in Finley’s life, he, his mum and 2 sisters moved to Bournemouth. Finley was 11 years old, shy, quiet and anxious when he was introduced to Ju-Jitsu by a family member. It quickly changed his life, within months Fin was smiling again, less anxious and began training around 6-8 hours a week.

Now 15, Fin puts his everything into his training. Finley’s consistent hard work and dedication got him into a sports specialised school, LeAF Studio School and his passion took off even more from there. 

Finley joined Phoenix MMA in Bournemouth and began training in MMA, Ju-Jitsu and boxing. His confidence in fighting and within himself grew from strength to strength due to the support of his amazing trainers and his family.

Finley is now a jiu-jitsu European silver medallists in his category and has been accepted into the Welsh MMA squad. With this came great news that he would be fighting in Abu Dhabi end of July 2022. However, there is no funding for this, and his family would need at least £3000 to cover fight entry fees, medical and a chaperone. Finley is also due to be fighting in the USA early next year.
