Our ‘Forces Friendly’ Promise
We are proud to announce that we are now one of 3,000 companies in the UK to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant.
What is the Armed Forces Covenant?
“To those who proudly protect our nation, who do so with honour, courage, and commitment, the Armed Forces Covenant is the nation’s commitment to you.”
It is a pledge that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.
The covenant supports serving personnel, service leavers, veterans, and their families. And is fulfilled by the different groups that have committed to making a difference.
Why have we signed the Covenant?
By signing the covenant we are supporting our employees as reservists and veterans. In turn we can benefit from the wide range of unique and transferable skills, developed throughout their military careers.
Being a ‘forces friendly’ employer we are flexible to the unique situations of the wider armed forces community. We aim to uphold the fair treatment to all who are involved, including the spouses and cadet force adult volunteers.
It is important that whilst the MoD continues to improve support for service leavers and their families who face challenges after leaving, they also recognise and celebrate that most veterans leave enriched by their service and businesses like ours will do what we can to support them. We already work with the Career Transition Partnership’s (CTP) recruitment service to find quality applicants for apprenticeships, full time and vocational work opportunities.
